but I am sitting here staring at Elizabeth and Felicity (who is decked out in her summer ensemble complete with hat and brocade slippers) and even though Elizabeth is a pretty doll, I still feel that Felicity is more beautiful. She is gorgeous really. I know the hoopla of the blonde, blue-eyed, pink-clad Elizabeth is exciting, heck...I even bought her when I swore I was only working on Sam's collection, but does anyone else think that Felicity is still the nicer looking doll?

I have a west german felicity with the red hair and I think she is just beautiful! There is no other doll as pretty as she is. I haven't seen them in person together and I would love to see them in their ball gowns only swithced, then I would really be able to say that felicity is the prettiest!
I think part of the problem is that elizabeth's meet dress is so fancy that it helps her to outshine all around her, I think if she was dressed in something plain, maybe in felicity's birthday ourtfit it put them more on an even stage to compare.

Is Elizabeth beautiful? Yes. Is she equal to Felicity? no way!

But then I'm biased.

Perhaps our raves over Elizabeth are because she is so much prettier then we expected her to be?

I don't have Elizabeth (YET) but I was making an album last night about my "new" Felicity's arrival, and GOSH - I just couldn't help thinking how lovely she is.

She's standing in the center of my collection on top of my Dad's baby dresser, almost plain in her Rose Garden dress - but looking so, well, almost downright REGAL.

So I think I know what you mean. I wonder why that is? Could it be because of her period in history? I think most Americans are a bit in awe of that time - I mean, when you think about it, we are basically the Great Experiment, a nation that, by all rights, should not have been able to do what it did and certainly shouldn't be the nation it is today. The colonial militia went up against the greatest marksmen in the world at that time - and if my history serves me correctly, our militia and army were comprised of a hodgepodge of older men, almost kids, and a few of the right age in between - ill prepared, ill supplied, and basically poor, because of course we had to fund them ourselves, with no help from the Crown!

My British husband and I love to talk about this; he says it's because we had a cause, a goal, a purpose - that coupled with the fact that the British were sending everyone over on wooden ships nearly five thousand miles across the ocean, which took forever.

But I like to believe it was something more, that something special happened here, starting on July 4, 1776, when some men in Philadelphia decided it was time to commit treason in a BIG way.

*flag waves in background as fife and drum fade*

So I've always been fascinated by that time in history myself, and I think that, for me anyway, that mystique adds to Lissie's beauty and that undeniable spunk you can see in her eyes.

I am falling in love with the PM Lissies ever since TD Lissie came over ( Thanks Meg! ) I love the green eyes! That is what attracted me to Lissie first as a doll. But then I fell in love with the story and knew that someday she will be home.

I am not in a rush to get a PM, but if one comes to me, I'll let fate take lead.

I love my PM Lissie! And, okay, I wouldn't have had one if my dad hadn't passed. But I swear I would've enlisted somebody's help in order to score a PM Lissie anyway. Felicity is my FAVORITE doll as of right now. My other dolls are sort of neglected right now, because Lissie has gone EVERYWHERE with me this summer. I used to think the M Felicity was okay, but now that I have a PM, I don't like the M version. If she just weren't so superficial/fake looking, I might. Elizabeth just seems MORE superficial, though. I'd definitely pick a M Lissie over Elizabeth anyday!

But I LOVE MY PM Lissie!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lorie!!!!!!
